Memphis rap has always had a sound of its own — raw, cinematic, and unapologetically cold. Paper Route Woo carries that tradition on his back, and right now, he's proving he belongs at the top.

Paper Route Woo latest drop, the music video for "Pop Your Sh*t", is exactly the kind of statement moment that cements a rapper's reputation. Lifted from SLIME DUNKIN' RELOADED, the track rides a creeping piano loop layered over thick Tennessee trap percussion — classic Memphis DNA. Woo doesn't waste the beat. He locks in and goes doubletime, flexing his street credentials with the kind of confidence that only comes from actually living it. The visuals match the energy: lounging in his mansion with his people (including Key Glock), then hitting the club and making it rain. Home never looked so good.

The mixtape's emotional centerpiece is "Get 'Em Off," which features Woo's late mentor Young Dolph. It's a tribute and a flex in one — the kind of moment that defines a career. Then there's "Playaz Circle" with Key Glock and Zo Trapalot, a buzzing collab that was spontaneously recorded during the Miami stop of Key Glock's GLOCKAVELI Tour. That looseness shows — it's one of the most alive cuts on the project.

By October, Woo came back with SLIME DUNKIN' RELOADED, expanding the project with eight new tracks. The additions span the full range of what he can do: the sinister opener "Embalming Fluid", the smoky, blues-inflected "Bubblegum" where he targets fake trappers, the romantic "Please Me", and fan favorite "Playa Partner." PRE partner SNUPE BANDZ slides through on the simmering "Prime Time", and Alabama's Big Yavo brings that signature raspy drawl to "Say Please."
With Paper Route Empire behind him and the streets locked in, Paper Route Woo is operating without a ceiling. SLIME DUNKIN' RELOADED is out now on all platforms — and with more music already in the pipeline, 2026 is shaping up to be his year.
Stream it. Watch the video. And keep your eyes on Memphis.

The streets just got a new anthem. Central Cee, the UK drill star making international waves, has joined forces with Atlanta’s own 21 Savage for a heavyweight collaboration, “GBP”. The single marks a powerful fusion of London grit and Atlanta's unmistakable trap flavor, proving the genre's global reach is stronger than ever.

The track, an abbreviation of Great British Pounds, showcases the duo flexing their financial prowess and street credibility over a hard-hitting beat.

Central Cee's punchy flow and razor-sharp delivery pair perfectly with 21 Savage's signature laid-back menace, creating a seamless transatlantic synergy. Lyrically, the two trade verses about loyalty, hustle, and the universal language of getting to the bag. It’s a global flex, but it’s also a reminder of where they came from and the grind it took to get here.

With Cole Bennett at the helm, the visuals take this transatlantic banger to a whole new level.Directed by the visionary team behind Lyrical Lemonade, the video is a masterclass in style and storytelling. Bennett’s signature touches are all over the project—vibrant color palettes, seamless transitions, and dynamic framing that bring the swagger of “GBP” to life. Shot across both London and Atlanta, the video captures the raw essence of Central Cee’s UK roots while blending in 21 Savage’s undeniable Atlanta grit.

The visuals are as polished as the track itself, with moody lighting, fast-paced cuts, and an aesthetic that screams luxury without losing touch with its raw roots. Dripped out in the latest designer fits and jewelry that gleams like trophies, Central Cee and 21 Savage embody the track’s theme: making pounds and dollars while staying true to their origins.

For Central Cee, this collaboration is yet another milestone in his meteoric rise, solidifying his spot as one of the UK’s leading voices in global hip-hop. Meanwhile, 21 Savage continues to flex his versatility, proving why he’s one of the most consistent hitmakers in the game. Together, they’ve delivered a track that’s equal parts banger and blueprint—showing the power of unity in hip-hop, regardless of which side of the Atlantic you’re repping.

Fans can’t get enough, with the video racking up almost 1 million views within hours of its release. Social media is already ablaze with reactions, as listeners praise the chemistry between the two artists and the track’s undeniable replay value. Whether you’re running up streams or blasting it on the speakers, “GBP” is the currency hip-hop didn’t know it needed.
Watch it, stream it, share it, and get in your bag—because “GBP” is more than just a song. It’s a statement for both Central Cee, and 21 Savage.

We last seen Flo Milli early in the year when she released her project “You Still Here, Ho?” Well Ms. Milli is back with something to say and this is evident by her take on Lil Wayne’s classic record “A Milli.”

Draped in Bape, the Mobile Alabama native gleefully, mentions a new deal she signed. Flo Milli is rapping with a renewed eagerness. All bars and no hook like the original, Flo weaves in an out of topics while accusing others of stealing.

“Copyright my s*** because weird bitches like to steal”

The words and delivery shows that Flo Milli is in a competitive spirit. And the rhyme schemes display that she wants to be regarded for her skill as a rapper opposed to any other attributes that a lot of her contemporaries may be flaunting.

With Fruit Loop Flo Milli shows she’s as talented as anyone else in the market place.

“Uh, make me sing like the BeeGees / Tryna talk big but he got a lil' pee pee / Bitch keep hatin' but she keep me on repeat / Make a hoe leap, uh, uh, call me Nene / Wet, wet, got the good water, bitch, Fiji Melatonin in the coochie, make a n**** sleepy”

It’s apparent Flo Milli has been cheffing up, with more to come, stay tuned.

Last year, King Combs got himself a number one with “Cant Stop Won’t Stop.”.
This summer he drops C3 a quick 3 pack with a bonus track. Along for the ride King Combs invites Swae Lee, Fabolous, Aboogie, and on a bonus track Yung Miami. The first look off the project is “Flyest in the City” featuring Aboogie and Fabolous.

In a recent interview, King Combs spoke on his evolution as and the legacy of Bad Boy,

"C3 represents my growth and evolution as an artist. I poured my heart and soul into this project, and I’m thrilled to share it with the world. It’s an honor to continue the legacy of Bad Boy Entertainment, and I am grateful for the opportunity to express myself through my music."

With Aboogie on the hook, and bridge, the summer heater Fabolous shows up for the new comer. Fab did what Fab does. Meshing sonically with a veteran feature at times could be hard for a new artist, but a confident King Combs didn’t sound like a guest on his own record which is good.

J Billz has the tonality sounds like everything good about southern rap music. His delivery through out is filled with authentic confidence. Match that with
Pi’erre’s eerie production layers perfectly with Billz’s take on his own life, occasionally sprinkling in church organs on tracks like project opener “Trappin Like A Fool,” which finds Billz gliding across buttery keyboard chords. On tracks like “Pick Today” and the pre-released “Megan Thee Stallion” J Billz speaks on how his consistent hustle resulted in his upgraded lifestyle.
Conway The Machine, the Buffalo-based rapper, has released his highly anticipated new album, "Wont He Do It"

"WON'T HE DO IT" is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2020 release, "King To A God", which features a mix of solo tracks and collaborations with some of the biggest names in hip-hop.

The album starts off with the intro track, "Quarters", which sets the tone for the rest of the project with its gritty beat and introspective lyrics. The following track, "Brucifix" features a collaboration with fellow Griselda Records member, Westside Gunn, as they both deliver hard-hitting bars over a haunting instrumental. Other notable collaborations on the album include "Stab Out" featuring Ransom, "Water To Wine" featuring Dave East & Jozzy, and "Brooklyn Chop House" featuring Fabolous and Benny The Butcher. Each track showcases Conway's ability to hold his own alongside some of the biggest names in the game, proving once again that he is one of the most talented MCs in the industry.

Recently, Conway spoke about the inspiration behind the album, saying
"Wont He Do It" is a reflection of my journey, both as an artist and as a person. It's about overcoming adversity and never giving up on your dreams. I hope this album can inspire others to do the same.

Conway The Machine, whose real name is Demond Price, was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He first gained attention as a member of the rap collective Griselda Records, which he formed alongside his brother Westside Gunn and their childhood friend Benny The Butcher. The group's gritty, street-oriented sound quickly gained a cult following, and they have since become one of the most respected crews in hip-hop.

Conway's solo career has also been met with critical acclaim, with his 2020 album "From King To A GOD" receiving widespread praise for its raw lyricism and impeccable production. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Eminem, Jay-Z, and Drake, solidifying his status as one of the genre's most exciting and versatile artists.

In "WON'T HE DO IT", Conway continues to showcase his growth as an artist, delivering his signature gritty bars over a diverse range of beats and collaborating with some of the biggest names in the game.

It's an album that's sure to please fans of his previous work while also appealing to those who may be new to his music.

Quavo drops his new single “Honey Bun” (Quality Control Music/Motown Records) along with an accompanying music video.

When Quavo lost Offset we knew that he would forever be changed. Nothing would be the same for the leader of the Migos. Honey Bun is those thoughts manifested. Quavo’s content is different.

Blatantly in reference to Offset’s untimely demise, Quavo utters, “I dont wanna hear no sorry for my loss.”

In his music and presumably his life Quavo’s disposition is suggesting more aggression and less patience,

“How can I come outside, without no mask on? / They wanna see my emotions, I ain't smilin' at all / I bought a bulletproof Humvee, it could take down a wall / Tactical mechanics end up paying off.”

Sporting a metal mask, the video is both dark and menacing and Quavo is looking to make his statement. The passing of Offset, has had profound affect on Hip Hop as a whole, but nothing like the affect it must of had on Quavo.

As he mourns and finds his voice without his nephew this new tone doesn’t sound natural for Quavo, but let’s see where it leads us as he settles into this version Honcho.

Drake speaks on his mortality, as we hear waves crashing on the shore of Turks.

The two would seem like an odd pairing, but hearing them communicate with each other you can hear how the two can in fact be friends. The 35 minute conversation was largely all over the place starting with their commonality of both being children of their moms and how Drake’s mom must feel about being Drake’s mom.
More nonsensical questions come from Lil Yacthy, and Drake a tempts to make sense of the questions and rambles answers to be present in the conversation. Truly entertaining. I don’t know why they are talking, I don’t know what Drake is selling, but Drake does talk about retirement being on his mind.

Tink is at her best when she’s being undervalued in her personal life and she pours the pain into her music. She excels when she’s hurt. A kin to what Mary is to her fan base, nobody likes happy thriving Mary. We like hurt, down bad Mary.

Tink seems to go out of her way to drop in the month of February and it’s not because of Black History. It’s about the esthetic of love that the month provides. And on her latest February release, “Thanks 4 Nothing,” Tink is fed up and money and gifts can’t fix it. The voice is sultry, with pain in every note. The production is helmed by rumored love interest Hit Maka. The two Chicago natives show out. The lyrics are poignant and it elicits thoughts of, “who is trying Tink like this?”

14 tracks all made with care, disappointment, and intention. Two features on songs that are strong, and they do not over power the project. I’m not going to name the features, nor am I going to tell you what I believe are the stand out tracks on “Thanks 4 Nothing.” You check it out and you let the music resonate with you and your emotions, but I will tell you this; As per usual Tink is raw and honest and she’s seeking love and clarity on “Thanks 4 Nothing,” she’s hurt bad, but word to Mary J, boy does it sounds good.

DZ announces P Rock Baby, his next project, coming soon. P-Rock, short for Plymouth Road in West Side Detroit is where DZ was born, raised, and grew from being a block boy to a top shotta. His upcoming project is dedicated to his life and how his neighborhood enabled his hustler mentality.

After his most recent headbanger "Mo Money Mo Problems" was making noise in his city, DZ is back feeding off that energy in a new visual for "The Show." Directed by CT Films, DZ is taking us on a ride through his block off Plymouth Road while narrating his story,

"Conceal your intentions, never show 'em how you feelin/Always say less than necessary when you chillin/Started from the bottom now a n**** own the building/I ain't know what a pint was 'til I spilled it.

FMB DZ has quickly risen to a prominent influence in Detroit. His mixtape series "The Gift" earned him praise from critics and media outlets, and was praised for his "clever wordplay and natural ear for beats, with sobering storytelling." Shortly after, DZ followed up with a 16-song mixtape Back On Track featuring Skilla Baby, Sada Baby, RMC Mike, and more.

It's looking like FMB DZ is going to be making noise in 2023. Stay tuned for P Rock Baby.

Channel Tres is a different type of brother. Me myself, I’ve woke up in some very peculiar situations, but I can wholeheartedly say I’ve never woke up in the morning with my Chucks on, now that’s different.

The very classic Chuck Taylor Allstar has been around for over one hundred years. Wearing them will never not being a thing, definitely if you are from the West Coast. Chucks, is an ode to the sneaker and quite frankly the song is a vibe. Musicality on amazing, live instrumentation galore, horn solos, but that is what the Grammy-nominated Terrance Martin hangs his hat on. Man can Terrance Martin play the saxophone. Just ask the likes of collaborators Kendrick Lamar, Herbie Hancock, and assorted other greats in need of the Jazz Saxophonist skills.

Chucks is him stepping out and switching it up, music is music, talent is talent and most importantly it transcends, boxes that people will try to place you inside. Handling the production and Channel Tres holding down the vocals the pairing has something special with Chucks, that could stretch beyond this release. The gruffness in Channels voice is hypnotic mashed with the soulfulness of Terrance Martins instrumentation leaves a sound to behold.

Terrance Martin’s take on the song,
“The song ‘Chucks’ is a sonic picture that represents New Los Angeles. The driving pulse of the song represents the tempo of traffic, the bass line is the attitude of a true Angeleno, the space that Channel commands with his vocals closely relates to the motion of water. At the end of the day it’s goin’ to make you move and feel good about being alive.”

Channel Tres adds,
“For me, this record ‘Chucks’ is about reminiscing and grieving my past. I grew up on Long Beach Blvd and a lot of things took place there. I remember the donut shop, the car wash, the Compton swap meet, and I tried to best articulate that feeling with space and groovy production. Chucks were also my choice of shoe growing up, they cost 25 dollars at the swap meet, and they looked good. I had a bunch of them.”

Martin’s 2021 BMG release of DRONES is Grammy-nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album this weekend and features acts such as Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, YG, Cordae, Robert Glasper, Leon Bridges, James Fauntleroy, and more. DRONES

Be on the look out for Terrance Martin at Coachella and Terminal 5. Expect more releases like this from his developing new artist on his imprint Sound of Crenshaw Jazz in conjunction with BMG.

"I'm excited for this first release under my own imprint The Evans Administration"

Phoenix rapper Richie Evans releases "Highly Favored", a 6-track EP with music ranging from smooth jams to boom-bap rap with production from The Olympicks, Othello Beats, Tariq & Paul Cabbin, TrackPros and Kofi.

I've learned so much working closely with entrepreneurs like The Game and Rick Ross. One of the most meaningful songs on the project is my latest single "Can't Knock The Hustle."

Richie Evans sounds like the best because he learned from the best. After a chance meeting with platinum rapper The Game in a Phoenix nightclub several years ago, Evans joined The Game’s team and learned under the Compton rap icon. A few years into their relationship, Richie Evans – who rapped under the moniker Juice at the time – decided to strike out on his own. The Game gave Evans his blessing, so Richie Evans adopted his given name in 2016 and started rebranding himself. He began building his infrastructure and setting himself up with a business, The Evans Administration.

But for us at Vuulm we love to see what the new talent has to say. Pelican’s from East Oakland’s All Black is a super chill vibe that transports you straight to the Bay. All Black has a familiar but unplaceable tone, but the cool is definitely the Bay.

One thing a rapper from the Bay is going to give you the slick lines and your new favorite new slang. Word to 40 water.

“Bacon Boys get on me, this long sleeve gonna start flying”

The young Legend, Curren$y delivers a staple verse. Patent flow and car bars, spells out this timeless Curren$y verse.
Charlotte, NC artist Reuben Vincent releases his new single "Trickin" from his forthcoming Jamla/Roc Nation Records debut album Love Is War.

“It Ain’t Trickin If You Got It!” With “Trickin,” these two young and emerging stars tackle the complexities of relationships/sitautionships that are prevalent amongst Generation Z.

“Trickin” is a tale of three stories. The song amplifies the wrongs in dating culture today for my generation and how it plays out in different scenarios” Reuben Vincent clarifies.

“The first verse is something I lived. I was involved with a girl in a situationship, and once she caught feelings I became detached and acknowledge my imperfections. In the second verse I speak from the perspective of a guy “Trickin” on a girl, thinking he has the upper hand when ultimately it’s the other way around. I’ve lived the first experience first-hand and witnessed the second one happen to many other people. After I recorded my verses, I drove down to Atlanta the next day and played it for Domani and he immediately hopped on it; the rest is history.”

“Trickin” is the new single from Reuben Vincent’s forthcoming Jamla/Roc Nation Records debut album Love Is War. Though the Charlotte, NC-bred rapper & producer is only 22 years old, his buzz is already palpable. After joining Pusha T on his It’s Almost Dry Tour, the rising artist put the industry on notice with, “Geechie Suede,” (video link) and most recently his standout Cypher performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards.

“Trickin” includes an intro from comedian Katt Williams and is produced by Andre Mego, 9th Wonder, and Young Guru. Reuben Vincent's "Love Is War" album will be released in January via Jamla/Roc Nation Records.

Another great year for ladies in Hip-Hop and these ladies are up next for 2023!

ICYMI, here is the 2022 Top Female Rappers We're Watching list.

Lebra Jolie, Houston, TX

Earlier this year, Lebra dropped her self-titled EP "Lebra Jolie" with featured guests Babyface Ray and Rob49. Since signing to Interscope records, she's been busy dropping music and growing her fanbase. It's no wonder she's Up Next for 2023.

Gloss Up, Memphis, TN

The gowrls in Memphis are killling it! Signed to Quality Control Music earlier this year, Gloss came through ready with a hard flow and presence. On signing day, music CEO and co-founder of QC Pierre "Pee" Thomas took to Twitter to say,

“She too hard, plus I love helping the ‘TheUnderDawgs’ get on top. … She so raw and authentic.”

Lola Brooke, Brooklyn NY

It's been a breakout year for the Brooklyn native, with massive success on TikTok, performing at The Barclays Center at halftime at the Brooklyn Nets NBA game, dropping a classic freestyle for Funk Flex, and joining fellow NY native A Boogie With Da Hoodie on stage at his concert -- the crowd sang every word of "Don't Play With It" as well as A Boogie. There is no doubt Lola has been preparing for this moment and 2023 is going to be her year. It's #GattorSZN

Sally Sossa, Houston, TX

At 17 years old, Sally Sossa was dropping mixtapes that put her on the scene. Now at 20 years old, she's already worked with and mentored under Lil Durk. But what is special about Sally Sossa is how versatile she is, from singing to freestyling, Sally is something special.

Big Jade, Beaumont, TX

Earlier this week, Jade dropped "Here I Iz" freestyle just in time for 2023. There's no doubt that Big Jade is going to be making big moves next year. Now signed to Alamo Records, Jade has already made a name for herself in Texas for her notable freestyle abilities and bars.

Stunna Girl, Sacramento, CA

If you haven't heard from Stunna Girl in a while, it's because she's gearing up to drop music for her fans in 2023. Stunna Girl has been on the scene since 2020, receiving allocates from blogs and media about her standout lyrics and raunchiness. However, even though things may be a little quiet now, she's going to be making noise in 2023. Stunna Girl hasn't left us in the dark for too long, she's given us new music all year, and she's working on her creativity and brand for 2023.

Maiya The Don, Brooklyn, NY

The glow-up for Maiya has been great to witness! Her breakout single "TELFY" grew to popularity on TikTok with the #TelfyChallenge breaking over 600K videos. Not only is the New York native staying connected with her fans on social media, but Maiya has also been performing all over the country and recently stopped by Power105 with DJ Self for a freestyle. It's only going up for Maiya, she's going to be unstoppable in 2023.

Nunu Delaunay, Broward County, FL

It's always great to see independent artists gaining fans. Nunu has been on the scene since 2020, dropping music for her followers and new fans. Her melodic voice and catchy lyrics really showcase Nunu's musical abilities. It's clear the talent in Florida is growing rapidly and Nunu is in that pool of talent.

Glorilla, Memphis, TN

Wow, it's been a breakout Glorilla. From signing with Yo Gotti CMG/Interscope to her major breakout record with Cardi B, it's clearly been a great year for Big Glo. What's special about Glorilla is her story to success and how her fans can relate to her come up. It's truly been great to witness a talented young woman who did not stop at anything to accomplish her dreams. We're very excited to see what's next for Glorilla in 2023. #LetsGoooo!

Abby Jasmine, Staten Island, NY

Abby Jasmine is true to this, not new to this. The MC has been on the scene since she was 16 years old, gaining fans through social media by posting her music online. Now, she's signed to Cinematic Music Group who saw something very special in her. Clearly, they were right, and Abby has been working on her terms and doing what works best for her. Her recent performance with "On The Radar" clearly showcases her talent and we can't wait to see what she does in 2023.

Bree Runway, London, UK

She's clearly "THAT GIRL", with over 1 million views within the last 2 months. Her sound and music are really captivating because most would consider Bree an R&B/Soul artist. However, it looks like Bree is expanding her potential. Let's not forget, in 2019, Bree received a BET Award for Best International Artist. With music success overseas, she's crossing over into the US market on the charts, and it's looking like 2023 might be her U.S. breakout year.

Cocona (XG), Japan

What's interesting to note here is that Cocona is a part of the trilingual rap-girl group XG. XG dropped a mixtape earlier this year, and the first track on XG's mixtape was "JID" by Cocona. They took social media by storm because of the trilingual lyrics on their mixtape. The viral video reached the TOP 10 on YouTube Chart in Japan and surpassed 3 million views within 10 days. This girl group is definitely talented and clearly can flow effortlessly. This is very different and exciting, and we're going to be watching them in 2023.

Doechii, Tampa, FL

What a year for Doechii! From performing on Jimmy Fallon earlier this and having a breakout single with SZA for "Persuasive," Doechii has had a great year. She's gained a massive following and streams from her music going viral and tagged in various TikTok trends. No doubt she's going to be busy for 2023, we can expect to see more greatness from the TDE signee.

Kali, Roswell, GA

Kali is growing as an artist and we love to see it. Earlier this year she released her second album "Toxic Chocolate" and performed over the summer at Rolling Loud. Her sound, bars, and flow are unapologetic, always! And we love her carefree f-ck you attitude because is the energy we need for 2023!

Big Mali, North Carolina

It's great to see Big Mali dropping energy and bars, closing out 2022 with a bang. We featured Mali in our Up Next: Rising Artists from The Carolina Series in 2019. But Big Mali is still going strong and dropping hardcore freestyles and music. Earlier this year she dropped her latest album "Redemption" under South Coast Music Group and we're looking out for another project very soon from the talented lyricist.

Shyfromdatre, North Carolina
Shyfromdatre is raw and thorough. She is not afraid to say what's on her mind. Her songs "6000 Degrees" and “Go Best Friend” have gone viral on social media and given Shy popularity in her city. With over 300K followers, her fans are consistently supporting her music and enjoy her personality. Shy is truly talented with lyrics and flow, and her fans love her. We're excited to see what new viral trend she does next in 2023.

In his latest video Rocket Man, Boosie speaks on late Migos rapper Takeoff, the latest challenges he's faced in recent months from media, family, and the state of hip-hop.

"We use to be heroes, no they shoot us down like free throws / Like killing a rapper a cheat code / Popping perks is cooler than selling kilos. Women showing too much look like cheap h*es"

Boosie never fails to put out great music and this latest track showcases his growth and influence within the culture. "Can you stop talking about my past and let Boosie grow?" It's no doubt fans support Boosie's OG influence and music.

Takeoff passed away on November 1 in Houston. He was 28 years old, and a member of one of the most groundbreaking hip-hop groups of all time.

Rapping about his love and affinity for plus-size women like the plus-size superstar Lizzo, I couldn’t help but hear all the techniques that this new artist possesses.

At Vuulm, too many times we see artists release a record and move on to another release before we had a chance to really sink our teeth into it and its individual. By the time we figure out how we can support that particular release the artist has moved on to another release.

This week Moone Walker released “Feel’n Myself” over a Caribbean vibes record. Moone walks, walks, and walks some more over this track. A competent hook, paired with confident raps. What you get with Moone Walker is an artist that knows he’s ready for all that comes with being next.
“You ain’t got to gas me up, cause I know that I’m lit”

With effortless skill, Moone Walker makes what isn’t easy look easy, largely because it’s easy for him to do. Stop playing with Moone Walker.

Me vs. Myself is a make or break album for A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

After in years of inactivity it’s safe to say, A Boogie is on the clock! Which in of itself is hard to even quantify, because in the past ten years Aboogie is arguably the most important rapper out of the five boroughs that compromise New York City. Everything rap that is melodic out of New York City is a direct cause of his brand of music. His influence is everywhere, yet if feels as if he’s been lapped by those who have obviously studied every word he’s ever rap-sung.

Atlantic Records recently parted ways with multi-platinum recording artist Meek Mill, and the late PnB Rock before his untimely death. Yet Atlantic is still the home to melodic rapper critically-acclaimed, nine time Grammy nominated Roddy Rich. Roddy is out here thriving and like artist Rod Wave at the top of the year closed a $15 million deal with Alamo Records.

Does A Boogie feel the pressure to deliver at that level? Between his Breakfast Club interview to support the roll out of Me vs. Myself and the project itself its easy to hear that he understands where he’s at and he’s not comfortable with his place with in his career and most importantly in Hip Hop. Lack of productivity has been Boogies biggest issue, aside from EP’s his last project Artist 2.0 was released early 2020, pre-pandemic. Ending this year his dropped Me vs. Myself and an apology for his inactivity to his supporters with a A promises of a project every three months this coming year, for the foreseeable future.

But let’s start at the twenty three song Me vs. Myself (Deluxe). The project opens up with A Boogie featuring PnB Rock on “Needed That.” The song is about embracing romantic setbacks as they come. Hearing PnB Rock lead off A Boogie’s project with the Hook and first verse just shows the love and respect A Boogie have for PnB Rock and reminds us of the that PnB Rock was. Let’s get to the stand outs. Take Shots with Tory Lanez, Water (Drowning 2.0) featuring Kodak Black. A clear attempt to try and capture lighting in a bottle twice (The original Drowning record is several times platinum). Features also include Lil Dirk (twice), Roddy Rich, H.E.R., G Herbo, and Don Q.

The Bronx native’s subject matter is typical Boogie, heartbreak, money, strippers, materialism, but he’s in familiar vocal pockets, and then he strays into territories that he hasn’t frequented. It’s not a bad thing that his content is his content. It’s the vocal pathways that he chooses to deliver his content. It’s hard to tell an artist to not do the thing that he’s known for, not to do the very thing that made him successful. Not listening to anyone is what got him here. But growth should be the what’s seminal for new works of art.

In closing, the good thing is A Boogie wit the Hoodie is back, the bad thing is there isn’t much difference since the last time we saw him pre-pandemic. This album Me vs. Myself was titled correctly. It’s plain to see A Boogie can only be defeated by A Boogie.

Earlier last month, P was recently featured on "Live From The Block" where he delivers a compelling performance for "Reny Talk" off of his latest EP.

"Wealth and abundance every time I talk, Moving bundles every time I talk, Blue face hunnids every time I talk, Over west doing hunnids every time I talk..."

The creative direction for the project also speaks to P's diligence to raise awareness surrounding his community. The album cover for "Icons Never Die" is an abstract portrait of P Dope's brother Doc who fell victim to gun violence before reaching his potential. P Dope sheds light on this unhealed wound in his record "Smoke to the Sky".

The project is both concise & kinetic that highlights some of his darkest hours while dazzling with wordplay, punchlines as well as sample driven production. With stand out records like “Score”, “Reny Talk” & “Icons” this project is an easy listen with playback value.

"I got a lot to say, you better stop the beat" - NBA Youngboy

YB definitely has a lot to say and a lot to get off his chest. In this new 8-minute track, Youngboy is putting a lot on the table. He even speaks about his past situations with the law, family, and industry. Most importantly, it appears that YB has taken a different approach to resolve his grievances, and highlights "stopping the violence" throughout the song.

Last week, Youngboy and Quando Rondo dropped a collaborative mixtape "3860," however, Youngboy shared with XXL that he was disappointed that the album has dropped despite sharing his feedback with Quando.

Nevertheless, fans are always excited to hear new music from YB. Right now, Youngboy is sitting behind Drake at #2 on the "Most Streamed Artists of 2022" with over 5 billion streams.

Looks like Youngboy is going to continue staying busy for the rest of 2022.

The 15-track project is a follow-up to his successful 2018 release "Not All Heroes Wear Capes." The project rollout has also taken a creative approach in showcasing the theme and highlighting his collaborations. In addition, Metro teased fans with a short film ahead of the debut release.

The comic book-style posters highlighting each artist align well with the "Heroes & Villains" theme, and also great memorabilia of his past collaborations and projects with each artist.

In 2018, Metro released "Not All Heroes Wear Capes" which was his debut solo album and was well-received by critics and media outlets. It placed Metro among the top producers in the industry and he later received a grammy nomination for his collaboration on Coldplay’s "Music of the Spheres."

Kansas City rapper SleazyWorld Go finally dropped his latest mixtape "Where The Shooters Be" and new visuals for his latest single "Vanish Mode"

SleazyWorld Go is having a breakthrough year. He gained popularity because of viral songs and freestyles on TikTok. And now, his new project
Where The Shooters Be showcases Sleazy's body of work and grittiness. This long-awaited 21-track project features heavy hitters such as Lil Baby, Fredo Bang, G Herbo, Offset, and Rich The Kid.

Before signing to Island Records, Sleazy was already buzzing and collaborating with major artists. Earlier this year, Offset reached out to the artist to collaborate on his viral track "Step 1", which received over 200 million views due to the popular "Step 1 Challenge" on TikTok.
In addition to his latest project, SleazyWorld Go dropped new visuals for his new viral song "Vanish Mode."

In a recent interview with Billboard, SleazyWorld says he's grateful for being discovered on TikTok because it allowed him to reach many more people outside of TikTok two years ago,

"I was an underground artist that everyone knew, but [in the] mainstream, nobody knew me. So when I got discovered on TikTok, all my fans were like, “No, don’t bring him on here. This is our artist.” Mainstream was kinda late to me, but at the same time, it was good because it brought my sound to more ears than I could do on my own. It would’ve taken me more time. It opened them doors."

We're excited for SleazyWorld and we know 2023 will be his breakout year to becoming the next star. He's ready and up next.

I must be down, I must be stressed |
I've got like thirteen years of age that I ain't still got off my chest |
It must be so much more to life if I had diamonds and baguettes |
I must be stupid, fucking shaded |
Must be down, I must be stressed"

Over the summer, Doechii released her debut ep "she / her / black bitch" which featured the popular TikTok sound "Persuasive”. Doechii also performed her viral song on The Tonight Show. The 5-song EP received outstanding reviews from major outlets and critics, making Doechii an upcoming superstar.

Tee Grizzley drops a visual album "Chapters of the Trenches" inspired by real events.

Last month, Tee Grizzley premiered 13 music videos at a private event in New York City, and today he drops his album "Chapters of the Trenches". His goal is to have his fans and listeners feel like they're in the moment -- watching an episode of a TV series.

The stories from visual album is inspired by Grizzley growing up in Detroit. Although "Chapters of the Trenches" is fictional, there is still some sense of truth behind each chapter. Each story shows a reflection of Grizzley growing up, pain, sorrow, struggles, and that's what he wants his fans to feel.

As Grizzley expands on his creativity and director role, he's hoping he can connect with fans across different cities with familiar stories and promote the series.

We've been able to see the first 5 videos for "Chapters of the Trenches", with "Robbery Part 5" being the fifth video of the series.

Directed by Ben Marc, Grizzley is at odds with himself as he learns that a witness from his case has caught amnesia, and after visiting her in the hospital, he ends up caring for her and failing in love.

She Like Boy You Stood By My Side, I Appreciate You, Gon Always Be Your Woman,
I’m Gon Always Be Faithful.. And She Ride Everytime I Ride..

However, the witness has her own job to do as she regains her memory back throughout the story.

These are getting good! Fans can watch the "Robbery Series" on Youtube.

"Chapters of the Trenches" is out now.

“Think it’s Funny,” was a true collaboration. Babyface Ray and Lebra created this song together.

A good back in forth rhyme is always entertaining to watch. And Lebra Jolie and Babyface Ray doesn’t disappoint in “Think It’s Funny” video. Lebra Jolie, the Interscope records signee shows that she’s ready for the spotlight Directed by Diesel Films, This song is both toxic and fun.

Dating is a tricky thing, both parties have expectations and boundaries. Lebra list hers clearly, and Babyface Ray list his clearly. It’s important for both parties to be on the same page before they decide to continue the courtship.

“I don’t do no workers got your boss

buying me birkins yeah

Bad up in person p*** grip just like a

virgin yeah”

Lebra Jolie, is from the 5th Ward of Houston. But she doesn’t sound like it. Her delivery is very much battle rap. She says she looks to battle rap for her inspiration when she gets writers block. Which explains her aggressive delivery. Beyond the fact that she can rap, she's a star. Lebra is managed by Baroline. What that mean? That mean Lebra Jolie is going to win.

Alex Vaughn may very well have the goods to be your new favorite. If that is the case so be it!

Alex Vaughn drops “So Be It,” a mid tempo track that establishes to a lover that she’s on whatever time he’s on, but just know that she knows that if she did what he did he would be in pieces. That’s the sentiment, but the voice?!? Sensational!

The LVRN signee (home to 6lack and Summer Walker). Takes a girls night on the town. They head to an empty carnival, ride a roller coaster and jam out in a car. The video is beautifully executed and wonderfully colored.

“I say that I don’t miss but I do. I say that I don’t care that’s not the truth.”

Diddy said R&B was dead. It’s obvious that he never heard Alex Vaughn. New talent is the cornerstone of all music. It’s the sole reason we all become music fans. It is the principle reason Vuulm as an app exist. And in R&B we long for the new artists that come in and shake the table.

Erica Banks is not only showcasing her lyrical wordplay but raunchiness. The "Buss It" rapper teamed up with Bankroll Freddie who makes a cameo as her love interest in the intimate video. Not only is the song vibrant but the visuals are nothing less than a vibe.

Bankroll Freddie also gives us a seductive verse,

Throw that a** back like a river / No, I can't drown, baby girl, I'm a swimmer / Said she like wood, come around when it's timber / D*** game is cold, how I gave her the shivers

"Nasty" is featured off of Erica's latest mixtape "Diary of The Flow Queen" which dropped earlier this year. The mixtape gained momentum and positive feedback from many critics giving Erica a stamp within the industry. She's staying busy by performing across the country, most recently Lollapalooza. And we can't forget her viral song "Buss It" and popular #BussItChallenge on TikTok which has received over 2.7 billion views.

Last month, Erica released the fiery single "Trick" also off of her latest mixtape and it received widespread praise. It's safe to say, Erica is not stopping any time soon. "Diary of The Flow Queen" is out now.

The Chicago rapper drops his fifth studio album, "Survivor’s Remorse: Side A"; "Side B" drops Oct. 10th.

G Herbo - lyrical and raw, has always been a representation of his city and hip-hop. His delivery has been consistent over the years, grabbing the attention of big named artists, and that is why the "Survivor’s Remorse" series is a highly anticipated project for the rapper.

The project includes features from Future, Gunna, Jeremih, Offset, Benny The Butcher, Essex, and his son Yosohn. In a recent interview, G Herbo speaks about the meaning of "Survivor’s Remorse" and what fans can expect,
I want them to be able to consume the A side and then, Monday, get to /the/ B side. When you actually put them together though, it syncs. It’s still one through 25, they still sync. But I want to start a conversation with my fans, like, ‘Alright, I like the A side, I like the B side,’ you feel what I’m saying? I intentionally wanted to start that conversation.

"Survivor's Remorse" is receiving great feedback from critics and fans. G Herbo's signature intros and melodic voice sets a tone for the 12-track project and story. And last week, fans were able to see his “On The Block” performance, currently trending on Youtube.
Fans were also surprised that Herbo dropped visuals to the first track off of the album "FWM"

On October 10th, we can expect G Herbo to drop Side B with features from Kodak Black, Young Thug, and Conway the Machine.

The first lady of Griselda Records cooked up something special.

Beautiful, bold, and fierce, Armani Caesar is something special. The Griselda queen released her latest single "Paula Deen" featuring Westside Gunn. The latest single is featured off of her upcoming album "The Liz 2" dropping later this month.

Directed by NayWayShotIt, Armani is serving glam and luxury from aside mansions and cars. The lyrical queen is delivering nothing but bars and dominance in "Paula Deen,"
Can't really argue with b*tches, I'm up here /
I met your dude, spent his check up and disappeared /
In the streets 'Mani did sh*t /
Whippin' that dope, sеrvin' n---s in kitchen /
I be on Paula Deen sh*t

"The Liz", released in 2020, was her debut project and featured heavy hitters Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, and 808 Mafia. The album received positive feedback and put Armani on the radar for her lyrical skills. With the success of The Liz, Armani has been busy on gearing up for "The Liz 2" all while performing at Coachella, Rolling Loud, and Made In America. "The Liz 2" is Armani's second album since signing to Griselda in 2020. Last year, she was featured on our popular series "Top Female Rappers We're Watching In 2022."

As always, we're excited about Armani's next project and can't wait to see what's next for her.

The Detriot rapper is staying consistent with releasing new music and visuals to fans. "Richer" is the latest song by Icewear and he's giving us heavy lyrics and bars.

Directed by Fresh Rich Visuals and produced by Zillo, the video showcases nothing less of a lifestyle of luxury, diamonds, and cars.

"All them playin' games, I ain't doin' no diss songs, choppa knock all the words out him /
Saying prayers, starting to feel like I'm hunted, in the Ghost counting dead pres' /
Neck hurtin', my ice might just eat the pain, hard to smile, but I shed tears /
Since I'm on, got to make sure my n---as straight, we been working for twelve years"

Over the summer, Icewear released Rich Off Pints 3 his third installment in the series which features G Herbo, Lil Baby, Key Glock, and more. It's also been announced that Icewear has linked up with Dj Drama and currently working on a Gangsta Grillz series together.

Ok, Lakeyah is an artist that we absolutely love here at Vuulm. There is a belief within herself that she possesses that is both rare and refreshing and it just speaks to us.

Sometimes that belief in one’s self can lead people to feel away about you especially when you’re early in your career. Which may be some of what has stalled her a bit, that and other things she can’t control.

Yet in still, Lakeyah took all this in stride and bounced back with the 10 song effort “No Pressure Pt. 2” the follow up to her June release “No Pressure” and this time out she enlists Flomilli, Latto, Icewear Vezzo, Lucky Daye, Gloss Up, and others to bring us her strongest effort to date.

Say what you want but Lekeyah can rap. And she knows it.

Lakeyah shares: “No Pressure Part 2 is a natural follow up to part one. While I was creating this EP, I wanted it to be a reminder of my lyrical ability and versatility. I have songs for the girls, the culture I represent and a song just in time for cuffing season!”

The Milwaukee-born rapper has all the tools to be how ever great she wants to be.

“Robbery,” has an old New York feel to it that makes one miss being able to put your friends on to him at the lunch room table. blkfriend is that good. Video is dark ski masks, hand guns pointed at peoples heads and lyrics like:

“Your life’s in limbo you need some order/

They come and find you in a place of horror.”

blckfriend wants to push boundaries as an artist, and his pursuit to master the electric guitar is just one of the many enticing elements to his live shows and recorded music. Now, with his official debut single “Robbery,” blckfriend embarks on his journey as a multifaceted artist and guitarist with an unparalleled work ethic.

“Nah FR,” features a laid back tonality over deep drums that is unmistakably him. There is a cool confidence to this record that makes you believe that he has the ability to make a big song over and over again.

Shot on a desolate roof top in downtown Orlando we see Moe doing unsuspecting rivals dirty with a rifle in the “Nah Fr” visuals.

The song is a vibe, Moe raps,

“She pleading and begging me please/ She wanting me to fill all her needs. Walk past me you going to feel a breeze/ N**** salute me like the been at ease.”

Moe’s persona is that of the real, associating with real players in the rap game shows that he is recognized by the real. Moe looks the part, outside looking in he seems comfortable around legends and to top it off, Moe sounds like a star. Now it’s just a matter of can he be the star that he has the potential to be.

Since signing to Quality Control, Lakeyah has consistently fed her fans with music–releasing Time's Up in 2020 and In Due Time in 2021–and landed a spot in XXL’s coveted ‘2021 Freshman Class.’ She originally gained attention in 2019 with a remix of a City Girls track for the viral “First Day Out” Challenge, which garnered traction online and caught the eyes of Quality Control Music and City Girls’ JT, who reposted her track. In early 2020, Lakeyah followed up with The Keymix II project, which introduced the world to her unmatched range, effortlessly swinging between aggressive, braggadocious rap and soulful, earnest R&B tracks. Later that year, she remixed Lil Baby’s “Sum 2 Prove” and “We Paid.” Again, her “We Paid” remix was quickly reposted by Lil Baby online, but this time Quality Control wasn’t waiting for someone else to recognize her untapped potential and signed her immediately.

The momentum continues in 2022 with the recent release of her EP No Pressure Pt. 1 via Quality Control Music/Motown Records, which boasts breakout single "Mind Yo Business" [feat. Latto]. With a unique style, natural talent and so much range, it’s clear that Lakeyah is a heavyweight to watch out for with no intentions of renouncing her title.

We champion all things Lakeyah and you should too.

Timely drops, that mix raw lyrics and street visuals he has positioned himself as a new comer to watch. This time out he has enlisted Chicago mainstay G Herbo for “Chase em Down” the two trade verses as they express their disdain for their opposition.

Lil Zay Osama is a disrespectful as the come.

“I be disrespecting my opps so much it got my page took.”

The second song off of his latest release Trench Baby 3. Executive-produced by Lil Durk, Trench Baby 3 shows how Durk took Zay under his wing and pushed him to make some of his best music yet. Lil Zay Osama. Remember that name because after Trench Baby 3 drops today (via Warner Records), there’ll be a new addition to Chicago’s rap royalty.

QC, whose roster includes arguably today’s king of street rappers and Superstar Lil Baby, culture driving The City Girls, and the legendary group The Migos. Where does Icewear and QC start?

They start with dropping the video “It’s all on U” featuring Kodak Black. The music is just two street guys from different places in talking their brand of talk in Icewear’s home town of Detroit.

“You wit the opps that means you ain’t my mans/ you moving like the cops I can’t take a chance 30 thousand in my pants.”

Icewear on his signing to QC:

"I think QC was the best fit for me," says Icewear Vezzo. "The structure of the label and the way Coach and P respect the artists' creativity—that’s important. You don’t see that a lot. They take what you already got and just add to it and make it way bigger.

From Louisville, KY to Cincinnati, OH, Juju Blessed blends the music he grew with up and the sounds of todays music to create his flows and bars.

Making a name for himself, because of his storytelling raps where he explores the dangerous world he grew up in. The streets of Louisville were never safe as he saw over twenty people lose their lives, leading him to his eventual move to Ohio. Specifically, the death’s of Larry Ordway and Maurice Gordon had the heaviest tolls on Juju’s spirit. After the passing of this brother Dino in a shooting out on the East end, Juju Blessed began his journey of self-discovery, finding music along the path.

With everything that has happened to the rapper, Juju carries a chip on his shoulder in his songs and delivers with dark tales of his past. His newest track “Posted” finds Juju teaming up with BackendChild Mar to deliver a melodic street anthem. “They be claiming that they real, they ain’t really on they block. Homicides if they talkin’ like they really on they block.” The two artists seem to find an easy way to flow with the beat, never breaking for too long in the track.

The single is short and sweet, leading to plenty of replay ability and leaving us excited for more collaborations from these two in the future.

“You ain’t never showed me love, yeah you broke it. Time to figure out my path I know I’m chosen.”

Featuring strong bars and honest takes on life, “Posted” is exactly what Juju needs to continue the momentum of his career.

Since really beginning the grind of his music career in 2021, Juju Blessed has done a great job of keeping away from the streets. In 2022, Juju Blessed signed a deal with OceanFiveRecords where he recently dropped his highly anticipated EP “Before The Fame.” The project consists of six tracks with highlights of “Hop In” and “LL Project.”

Since it’s release in April of 2022, Juju has been working on more projects that we expect to see in the near future. Along with Juju Blessed, BackendChild Mar also signed with OceanFive Records in 2022, making it her first deal with the Independent Record Label based out of Cincinnati.

Her first release under the label was “Bad Habits” which became a success for her young career. She has since linked up Juju Blessed on several projects such as “O5” and “Posted.” We expect big things from these two artists but are sure glad to have heard this rare gem.

Stream “Posted” on Vuulm and stay tuned to the careers of Juju Blessed and BackendChild Mar.

Fresh off a performance at Rolling Loud Portugal Maxo Kream drops off the video for Football Heads.

The is song is Maxo Kream over boom bap production with a feature from Benny the Butcher. Two lyrical rappers rapping, the song is old school dope.

Maxo, a slick competent wordsmith, yet one of the most underrated rappers in all of rap. He brings tricky wordplay, to a fully maxed out gritty delivery. His experience drives his subject matter. There is no mistaking the fact that Maxo is a student of the game that he is in, because to get this good that’s exactly what you have to be, a student.

“Trapping ain’t dead you snitch to feds, but them feds won’t protect ya. Lettuce, bread on your head, kill ya man’s tell him catch up.”

Benny showed up and did what Benny does, while Maxo delivered a clean video, keeping in theme with the title. You see him playing the field, while helmets bob to the beat. The Houston native is immensely talented.

My first introduction to Maxo Kream was She Live with Megan Thee Stallion which was the single off of his very dope Brandon Banks album, which also features Travis Scott, School Boy Q, ASAP Ferg, and none of these artists did he have a problem keeping up with on a track.

Not sure what Maxo has coming, but if more of it is sounding like Football Heads ,we’re excited to hear more.

When music starts feeling stale and here comes Vezzo with The 6 to restore the feeling. Rap is by no means easy, but Vezzo has a flare about him that when he raps he makes it look not terribly hard. Combine that with a flow that feels like he’s just floating on the track we have a recipe for success.

“Blew a check then another check cause I’m a millionaire / Had to do some time up in the Feds to see who really care.”

Icewear Vezzo is always right on time.

About Rich Off Pints 3:

Continuing the path set by 2021's Rich Off Pints and Rich Off Pints 2, which generated a combined 150 million streams across platforms, Rich Off Pints 3 is the product of a man who has been through hell in the pursuit of better days. The tape is home to recent single "Sicc Of Y'all," a sneering lyrical exercise which has over 1.7 million YouTube views since its early May release, and new highlights that illustrate the contradictions of the hustler lifestyle Featuring appearances from Key Glock, E-40, G Herbo, Babyface Ray, Baby Money, and others, Rich Off Pints 3 arrives on July 21st via Iced Up Records.

From shooting 3’s in the gym, to sharing glimpses of his close friend’s experience, Rylo Rodriguez takes his pain-driven melodies into this new single that explores the difficulties of dealing with an unjust legal system.

This raw storyteller from Mobile, AL flows over acoustic guitar riffs that radiate a yearning sense of acceptance. We see the young rapper reminiscing over his friend who was forced to accept a plea deal in an unruly case. Rylo has since vowed to care of his people and their families through these difficult times.

“They gave him basketball numbers, he took a blind plea. I’m tryna get his lawyer for him, take care of his daughter for him.”

Rylo Rodriguez holds it down for his brother in this track and represents his sentiments in this video as well.

The realities of life in Rylo Rodriguez’s circle are apparent in his storytelling. Having established himself as a star in the south, Rylo has made a name speaking to the soul and for keeping up his knack for making his individual experiences strike a universal chord with his listeners.
“Wish we would’ve told joe don’t hit that lick, it was pointless. Even though I know getting’ money a must like an armpit.”

Rylo finds a balance in his honesty and use of metaphors, making his bars both powerful and witty. He is able to stick to his essence as a Hip Hop artist while sharing the harsh truth’s of his life. “Get two choices where I’m from, that’s either casket or jail. You get two choices where I’m from, you rat or go to your cell.”

The video opens with Rylo Rodriguez shooting around in the gym with a classic Allen Iverson jersey on. The dimly lit basketball court feeds into the somber emotion that the beat provides. The serious look on his face also leads the watcher towards a more serious mood to fit the tone of the song. Built into the video are shots of his friend in a tense meeting with authorities. The emotions shown throughout each cut make it apparent that what has happened has had a powerful impact on those around him. Later in the video, we see Rylo himself wearing the same orange jumpsuit as his incarcerated friend. This serves as a great symbolization for his empathetic approach to the situation.

With the video single being released this past weekend, it has already accumulated over 650K views, charting on YouTube’s Top 20 Trending for music. The number #11 track of the week is sure to grow even further as the week progresses. Ever since he delivered his 2020 debut LP, “G.I.H.F. (Goat In Human Form),” a 17 track project with features from Lil Baby, Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, and Yo Gitt, Rylo has shown a strong ability to mix soulful street narratives about his life in Mobile into heavy-hearted raps that speak to a universal struggle.

This ability of his has endeared him to Lil Baby who signed him to his 4PF imprint and has since led artists like Kodak Black, Nardo Wick, EST Gee, OMB Peezy and many more to enlist Rylo’s signature style. We look forward to hearing more from Rylo as the summer goes on.

But today the good people at TDE Blessed us with the visual for Mannequin and boy does it look and sound like TDE’s streak of picking exceptional talent continues. While driving around a warehouse in a forklift he raps,

“Look my cousin just got rich off EDD cause she finesse/ it’s a crack house around the corner I know she using the address.”

The esthetic that TDE Films delivered matches the lyrical ability Ray Vaughn showcases. Ray finds himself in a dream scenario with his homie as Mannequins litter the streets, while multiple hims live in his experience. Ray is a rappers rapper. It’s evident by the music that he cares about these verticals, bars, flow, and delivery in that order. The cherry on the top is he’s a clever wordsmith. Obviously, any time you lose a talent like K. Dot there will be a whole to fill. And at TDE by committee the label should be able to stay. With a roster that is highlighted by SZA, Schoolboy, Isiah Rishad, Ab-Soul, Doechii, and Ray Vaughn TDE will be fine.

The new record is 2- minutes of straight bars and talking his sh*t. My Favorite Color is unlike other artists with a classic style reminiscent of old-school rappers and a modern cadence, and he’s open to catching all fades. “On god, I’ll end careers, but it’s hard to do if they’re never here.” The single is quirky, and it is accompanied by fire visuals featuring a color spectrum just as energetic as his personality.

My Favorite Color has a Billboard spotlight and co-signs from Lyrical Lemonade and Pigeons and Planes, but he’s just getting started. Anthony “My Favorite Color” Willis was born in the West Coast’s City of Angels and raised in the East Cost’s Pittsburg. He is a one-of-a-kind artist creating characters and different personalities that breathe life into his music. Signed to Rostrum Records, MFC has Billboard-charting records “Old News” and banger “Mayday” records leading to his next album.

In a crowed rap scene filled with new rappers scared to be themselves esthetics that are bland, and predictable troupes. My Favorite Color brings a refreshing fun presentation to his music.

With unpredictable wordplay and out-of-this-world style, there’s no doubt he’s building a lane for himself, and although it’s early we’re here to witness the journey.

Brooklyn-bred rapper DUSTY LOCANE dropped the “ICED OUT” video this past week to celebrate his 23td birthday. “ICED OUT’ is a Latin-style drill banger from his debut album, UNTAMED.

Produced by Torres on The Beat and 800-Hertz, the record is a melodic tone with heavy bass. DUSTY hones in with his baritone rasp and smooth pitch, delivering vivid visuals in the lyrics like, “Make a movie with this .45 like Nick Cannon, I am drumming.”

The video finds DUSTY in a Miami Beach home for a trip for parts pleasure and business. A woman enters his bed in the morning, later revealed as an inside-woman. They loaded bales of cash onto a boat later that night, driving off into the sunset. By the time the feds caught up, DUSTY was long gone.

In December, DUSTY joined the ranks of artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Coi Leray, and Pooh Shiesty by being welcomed into the #RIAAClassof2021 after receiving his first GOLD certification with his debut single, “ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN FREESTYLE,” garnering over 200 million combined streams. The EMPIRE artist struck gold again with “Rolando (Caught In The Rain)” with 85 million Spotify streams and ROLLIN N CONTROLLIN PT. 2.

DUSTY LOCANE is a rare breed of talent, and one of the most active rappers on the the NY Drill scene, plus he’s already a star. No doubt all eyes are on him, and he’s going to keep delivering.

Cincinnati, Ohio, is one of the Midwest’s rawest hidden gems in culture and music. Backend Child Mar is proving this true with her undeniable talent and ability to keep her audience captivated.

The 15-year-old artist just dropped her newest record, “Bad Habits,” and the response is incredible.

“Bad Habits” is her first record released under the OceanFiveRecord label. She gets vulnerable over melodic keys, confessing she can’t get her last love out of her mind, “shawty got me bad tracking, keep coming back to you, shawty that’s a bad habit. I don’t know what to do; shawty got me mad texting.”

She performed the new track at The Garage Fashion Show at the Mockbee in Cincinnati, OH, earning her city’s respect.

Backend Child gained a buzz in February 2020 when she made her first single, and she’s since collaborated with a myriad of artists, including Bank Boy, Dat1kiddo, and many more. Her most famous song, “Zooted,” featuring Otm Kam, was released on December 7, 2020, and she’s kept the momentum running two years later. Backend Child may be young, but she’s here to be taken seriously and has no plans of stopping.

She signed her deal in 2022 with OceanFiveRecords—an independent record label based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and now it’s only up.

The Bronx’s own Set Da Trend and the space he’s claiming in the white hot Bronx Drill scene

For his latest release “2 Slimed Out,” Set Da Trend taps Fr33bandit and they talk their player talk in over a familiar sample with NY Drill drums provided by Cash Cobain driving the song. The video takes place in a classroom which is a switch up to the environment we typically see from NY Drill. The visual is usually 100 dudes outside on a corner. To switch it up and put the environment in a school with eye candy is a welcome change.

The 18-Year-Old young spitter is everything right about the industry. Young, fresh, and beaming with promise. Sharing,

"Hop in the Benz, I ain’t taking no uber/All my opps bums, and y’all broke and some losers."

Setty is a winner!

Although they come through with intimidatingly appealing tough talk about their street bonafides, what I find most refreshing about this track is that it challenges the negative connotations associated with NY drill by not calling out any beefs. The video is just as great -- the duo's fun-loving personalities are highlighted as Setty takes control of the camera to record himself making hilarious faces, and Fr33Bandit gives a teacher a lesson on how to get sturdy. You gotta love these kids.

Recently signed to RECORDS/Columbia, Set Da Trend is determined to prove that he has the versatility and energy to emerge out of the Bronx and take over the world. Stay tuned for much more from the rising star during this "Setty Summer," including the release of his first EP.

A lot of rappers are struggling to find their lane, find who they are and what their particular code is. This doesn’t seem to be the case with Mookie.

Directed by Mr Bvrcks a high energy visual showcases Mookie flanked by a lot of his homies, dressed in all black, it’s clear how Mookie is coming he’s, and he’s not going to play around once he gets there.

Produced by Keemoney “No Mercy” is just the right amount of dark to allow Mookie to get in his super demon mode bag.

“Don’t come around trying to play both sides we kill Malcom in the Middle”

There is an energy around Virginia and Mookie Maxx is applying pressure to be mentioned in those happenings. A lot of talent is out there and Mookie Maxx is one of the ones that you need to keep your eyes on. Tonality, look, aggression, street talk it’s all there.

The attributes to take the rap game by storm Mookie Maxx has.

Big Moochie Grape is special. There are rappers and then there are rap stars. Big Moochie Grape is a rap star.

It's evident in the “Christopher Wallace” video, the PRE rapper appears in NYC, in a Coogi sweater, Versace, while standing next to the late Young Dolph. It takes a confident person to use The Notorious B.I.G’s name, monicker, and likeness in BIG’s city, no less. With concise blatant word play and a strong delivery Moochie raps,

“She f*** me real good because she know I’m important/Come to East Haiti we do the extorting”

It’s bitter sweet to see Dolph in the video, but seeing Dolph obviously believe in Big Moochie Grape and support his music makes one want to invest the time to see what he saw in Moochie. It’s admittedly clear that Moochie’s time is now. As a Haitian American rapper, thanks to Kodak he could be fast tracked to mainstream success.

Aided by signature Tennessee-style production from Bandplay, Sosa 808, Ayoza, and more, the tape chronicles Moochie's rise from the trap to the top, showcasing the street acumen and sly grin that has him rising in his city and beyond.

East Haiti Baby is home to Moochie’s ice-cold singles “I’m The One” and “Never Had Sh*t,” each of which earned over 1 million views on Youtube in recent weeks. Continuing a dominant year for Paper Route Empire as they honor Young Dolph's legacy, Moochie enlists Key Glock and Kenny Muney for features, and shares a new verse from Dolph himself on mixtape highlight “Fun.”

Whether he’s bouncing over a Bill Withers’ sample on “East Haiti Baby,” belting out cash-crazed melodies on “Money Money Money,” or swapping spitfire flows with Dolph, the Memphis native’s colorful charisma is felt throughout the 15-track tape.

We like Big Moochie Grape, and you should too.

Following the 2021 release of “The Klassic Tape Vol. 1,” KlassicKell has recently dropped another visual for one of the tracks on the project. “Soufside,” the first song on the tape, details KlassicKell’s upbringing in the Southside of Atlanta.

Originally released as a lead up single for the project, “Soufside” has been deserving of just the right visuals. From bar to bar, the Atlanta rapper flows through his life story and engages the listener with a combination of context and wordplay. “Started from the bottom my n*a, but sh*t we finally here, below 285 got something to say so lemme make it clear.” Klassic Kell’s voice sits well on this Hip Hop beat, allowing his voice to be the sole driver throughout the track. With excellent use of the beat’s sample, Klassic Kell had me bobbing my head from beginning to end. The honesty and grittiness he implores in his lyrics really bring the story from the song to your mind. You start to imagine what kind of life he has gone through, and his authenticity drives it home. “Yea it’s only middle school, but n---as dealing outside, can pop off any minute if its issues outside, sh*t I still get a cut right where my n---a got popped.” This no-gimmick form of rapping leads you to focus on what Klassic Kell seems to pride himself on, his lyricism and storytelling.

The music video, directed by Jacob Rink and YFP, brings the realness from the song into a visually satisfying product. The multiple scenes, from posting up in front of Infamous Barber Shop to the middle of a basketball court at night, blend well with the old school filters and edits. Involving his boys in the music video adds a personal touch, but the director is still able to put the proper emphasis on Kell. One of my favorite shots is of Klassic Kell sitting atop a basketball hoop with “Atlanta” splashed on the backboard in classic Hawks fashion.

It's exciting to see a rapper like this be so talented, yet also so relatively unknown. I personally love finding a diamond in the rough, and Klassic Kell has the chops to make it in this game. “Soufside” is just one of the amazing tracks found on his tape “The Klassic Tape, Vol. 1.” “Heart 2 Heart” and “Everyday Life” are two of my other favorites from this set and definitely worth a listen. Klassic Kell is a name you would all benefit to remember. With more music on the way, the sky’s the limit for Atlanta’s own Klassic Kell.

Here at Vuulm, what we love about Trapland Pat is he’s going to deliver the record. It’s literally what he signed up for when he signed his deal with Alamo Records.

He’s going to go out and put forth the effort, with collaborators that not only shows his promise, but his want to make the best music first and foremost. When he gets with other artists it doesn’t feel like a reach, there is a synergy between the artists he chooses to work with. Yet he wants to show a level of competitiveness on tracks. Trapland Pat belongs in the conversation of new artists to bet on.

Reconnecting with frequent collaborator PepperJackZoe, who produced recent singles like “Cappin,” “Losses,” and “Trap Dance” and co-produced “D.O.A.” with Hardbody B-Eazy, the new video finds Pat and 30 posting up in the nighttime streets, surrounded by Hellcats and old school Chevys, equipped with rims as large and lustrous as the duo themselves. As the pair cooks up some fire in a food truck, Pat makes it clear that it could very well be the ops’ last supper they’re whipping up:

Trench warfare, this is where you gotta crawl at/You never get active, what you know about combat?/Know you smoke mid, I can show you where the strong at.

Alamo Records has a history of finding the rawest of artists, nurturing them, and showing the world how to break street rappers.
Trapland Pat is going to be more of the same for the label.

Things we learned at the first ever AfroPunk Miami:

-There is late, fashionably late, and then there are Miami people coming when they get there.

-The humidity in Miami knows no chill.

-Kaylan Arnold is the truth!

-Yendry is super dope. After a delayed flight in from Paris. Yendry did not let being stuck in New York stop her from getting on stage and then getting off the stage and performing with her fans.

-AfroPunk Miami was Skillibeng’s first United States performance.

-The Gully God is going to do what he does.

-Venders from all over the country were in the building, and more than a few from Los Angles: S/o to clothing brands LA Raw, and Her Story.

-Bambii is a world class DJ. Her technique was second to none this weekend.

We may never recover from what I saw this weekend. A true celebration of blackness, highlighted, by every shade of beauty, creativity, and talent.

AfroPunk Miami showed out in its inaugural year. Thoughtful curation ensured that everyone who hit the stage belonged, but our personal favorites were Ebhoni, Kaylan Arnold, Yendry, and the bad man Skillibeng.

Filled to the brim with well thought out vendors, games, art, and food trucks. AfroPunk did not skim on making sure the experience would never be forgotten by anyone who attended the event the 3 day event. Forward thinking there is a buzz about AfoPunk MPLS, and of course the SuperBowl of AfroPunks, Brooklyn.

AfroPunk Miami gave everything it was suppose to give.

A high concentration of street rap is what he delivers. What I gathered in our enter action with Hardo is that he will always have something up his sleeve. That something is this, “Trapn Off the iPhone” featuring Doe Boy.
On this record Hardo establishes to those with ears, and who are tuned in that he can stand with any fellow street rapper and not only hold his own but shine. Over thudding 808’s and a gnarly piano riff Hardo bats first and walks.

“Hate to see a youngin smile/50 thou to tell the time. Them chickens I can sell them blind/ Them shots I send don’t come wit lime.”

Doe Boy shows up and does what Doe Boy does. Often we see artist who are further a long in their career mail in haphazard verses. That’s not the effort that Doe Boy delivers here. With Hardo, Pittsburg got one.

Kendrick Lamar – “Father Time (feat. Sampha)”

Deep memories told in the form of multiple sonnets, where stories unfold as Kendrick pens his thoughts as honestly as anyone could. Delving into the mind of a lyrical genius whose words breathe life into his devoted fans. A power that most are envious of, but very few would ever have the opportunity to achieve. A power that is shown throughout a project that will only get better with time. The grind and hustle it took to get to where he is now leads to showers of praise as his lyrics age like fine wine. Kendrick Lamar returns to the forefront of everyone’s mind as “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” has provided just the right amount of spotlight for the Compton rapper to shine. The world has been waiting for this album for years, but aside from enjoying it as a fan, I am lucky enough to enjoy it as a rapper aspiring for the same level of greatness that Kendrick embodies. With a full set of appearances by Blxst, Amanda Reifer, Sampha, Taylour Paige, Summer Walker, Ghostface Killah, Kodak Black, Baby Keem, Sam Dew, Tanna Leone, and Beth Gibbons, the project is star-studded and ready to make headlines.

“Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” is his fifth studio album and the last in his partnership with Top Dawg Entertainment. Though he has achieved massive success with TDE, leading to the signings of fellow artists SZA and Isaiah Rashad, Kendrick has finally stepped out and into the new pgLang. Founded by Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free, pgLang has become a service company for creators. With a roster of Kendrick, Baby Keem and Tanna Leone, the company is young and ready for big things. This move towards independence and beginning something new is motivating for artists such as myself. There is a certain pride that comes with the ups and downs of independence, something I know all too well. Being in control of everything comes with its handful of pressures. Not only are you in charge of the music, but you’re also in charge of your public image. Outside of creating, one must balance a budget for production, marketing, and merchandising. It’s a lot to handle, but Kendrick Lamar should be able to succeed where others have failed and create a new outlet for upcoming artists. This the release of “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,” Kendrick has also announced The Big Steppers worldwide tour with the pgLang roster. With the album now in our hands, we can expect some amazing performances.

The project opens up with “United In Grief” and really sets a strong precedent for the entire album. The track produced by OKLAMA, Sounwave, J.LBS, Duval Timothy, Beach Noise, and Tim Maxey. I felt myself listening intently when everything switched up on me. 1:27 marked the moment I paused everything I was doing to stare and admire the switch up in not only the beat, but in the flow and mood of the track as Kendrick steps into the hook for the first time. “The way you front it was all for rap, I was 28 years young, twenty mill’ in tax.” From that point the song delves into the concept of pain and recovery. Kendrick Lamar shares the story of a Green-Eyed model who has something in common with himself, the loss of a loved one. “Her first brother got killed, he was twenty-one, I was nine when they put Lamont in the grave.” Expressing how they each felt and consoling one another, where once in each other’s embrace, sex was the way of making the pain go away. “Stepping away from that verse and into the final one, Kendrick switches the topic from sexual to monetary, expressing the process of moving from poverty to riches. “I bought a Rolex Watch, I only wore it once, I bought infinity pools I never swimmed in.” He shares how spending the fruits of his labor didn’t mean as much to him as it did for those around him. “I watched Keem buy four cars in four months, you know the family dynamics on repeat.” In this verse, we see a different form of grief coming from the spending of money. “Poverty was the case, but the money wipin’ the tears away.” Another example of excellent storytelling by Kendrick, something I personally aspire to do. It’s tracks like these that need to be studied and broken down because although he makes it look easy, this form of writing is an art that takes time to master. As an artist and as an adult, I find it easy to understand what Kendrick was telling us in “United in Grief.” Balancing the benefits of coming up from a low position seems tough, especially when painful obstacles come to block our path. Whether it be attention from other people and controlling the lust that comes with it or figuring out how to manage money when you’ve grown up without it. Using either to handle the down times in life is just how Kendrick would grieve different.

The fourth song on “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” is “Father Time (feat. Sampha)” and it happens to be the most powerful song to me personally. With production from Sounwave, Dahi, Bekon, Beach Noise, Duval Timothy and Victor Ekpo, “Father Time” hit like no other song has in a while. I felt like the words almost spoke to me directly, and although the whole project is relatable to an extent, this song spoke to my core. “Father Time” touches on the oh so common set of Daddy issues. The track opens with a conversation between Kendrick and his fiancée Whitney Alford, discussing the need for therapy with Whitney pushing a reluctant Kendrick. Kendrick Lamar talks about the relationship between him and his father, the difficulties that came with it and how it affected who he is today. “Daddy issues made me learn losses, I don’t take those well, Momma said, “That boy is exhausted,” he said, “Go f*ck yourself.”” His tough upbringing is what made him stronger and more competitive. Understanding that it was his choice to sit aside and let life pass or make something of himself within all the adversity he had to face. “You could be a b*tch or step out the margin, I got up quick, I’m chargin’ baskets and falling backwards, tryna keep balance, Oh, this the part where mental stability meets talent, Oh, this the part, he breaks my humility just for practice.” The difficulty of having a tough-minded father combines with the societal pressures of being a man to become the ultimate undoing of many young men today. “Daddy issues, hid my emotions, never expressed myself, Men should never show feelings, being sensitive never helped.” This topic is something I struggled with growing up, and not really having a father around made understanding it that much more tedious. Kendrick shares how he was forced to be emotionally distant throughout his childhood with a convoluted idea of what being a man was really like. The vulnerability he shows in “Father Time” is a great example of how polarizing his bars are. I’m sure most men can understand where Kendrick is coming from and see a little bit of themselves in this story. “Daddy issues, f*ck everybody, go get your money, son, protect yourself, trust nobody, only your momma’n’em, this made relationships cloudy, never attached to none, so if you took some liking around me, I might reject the love.” Jumping from bar to bar, Kendrick’s development as a young adult is obvious and, in the end, can look back appreciative for the tough lessons he learned whilst young. He ends the song with a solute to people who were forced to grow up without a father, wishing the best for their future children. As a rapper, it can sometimes be difficult to express this kind of vulnerability on a song. Even more so on the big stage of the music game. I find myself teetering on the line of what the fans would like to hear vs what I feel is right in my soul. Lessons to take form “Father Time” would be to share what makes you who you are, whether it be your physical limitations or your upbringing, and to not be afraid to open that door for others to come in. Developing a connection with fans through music is amazing so it is no surprise that this track has had such a deep impact on me.

“Mother I Sober,” the epitome of impact. Powerful lyrics with a light piano backdrop. Kendrick Lamar reminisces on past regrets in this track produced by J.LBS, Sounwave and Bekon. With the help of Beth Gibbons of Portishead, Kendrick Lamar releases his inner demons in the longest song of the album. “Mother cried, they put hands on her, it was family ties, I heard it all, I should’ve grabbed a gun, but I was only five.” A song that serves as an emotional roller coaster, Kendrick takes his storytelling to another level, allowing fans to relive some of his darkest moments. Within the track we bare witness to his mother’s history with assault and the impression she made have had on Kendrick’s own possible assault story. “Family ties, they accused my cousin, “Did he touch you, Kendrick?” Never lied, but no one believed me when I said “He didn’t.” Kendrick shares this as he allows these memories to resurface, causing an uneasiness in his voice. The serious tone really drives the plot across and adds to the overall impact that this song has. Family issues from his childhood seeped their way into his adult life where he explains what was going through his head when he admitted to his affairs outside of his relationship with his fiancée. “Intoxicated, there’s a lustful nature that I failed to mention, insecurities that I project, sleepin’ with other women, Whitney’s hurt, the pure soul I know, I found her in the kitchen, askin’ God, “Where did I lose myself? And can it be forgiven?”” The battle with his vices almost proved to be the end of his relationship, seeing someone with such a pure heart break down in tears really affected Kendrick’s mentality on life and relationships. It becomes apparent that years of trauma have led Kendrick astray, sending his mind back to the topic of therapy. He understands his faults and hopes it doesn’t affect his children. “All those women gave me superpowers, what I though I lacked, I pray our children don’t inherit me and feelings I attract.” Kendrick proceeds to release secrets of who else has been dealing with trauma, specifically fellow rappers that bury their pain with material things. Ending it all with somewhat of a mantra, setting all the evil free, “So I set free the power of Whitney, may she heal us all, so I set free our children, may good karma keep them with God.” This ensemble of emotion in the form of rap is another reason why Kendrick is so highly regarded as a face on this generation’s Mt. Rushmore of Hip-Hop.

Each song on this album is an example of every bar meaning something. I’ve been told the importance of substance along with technique and have since been challenged to think outside the box when I put pen to paper. Although this album is sonically sound, it delves deep into a complicated mind that’s just begging to be awoken and explored. The mind of a musician will always be filled with twists and turns that have led them to seek music as a form of therapy and coping. That therapy is what I feel like this album focuses on. Not only is this a collection of relatable songs and stories, but this is also a way for Kendrick Lamar to relive and tell his life in a healthy manner. A way for him to cope with the things he has gone through. I hinted at this concept in my own song “Therapeutic” in which I used music to heal from a failed relationship. Yet, my form of vulnerability is nothing compared to this. “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” has shown me what real vulnerability is and the effect that connecting with fans on a personal level has on the soul. I feel connected to Kendrick Lamar through this project and that should be the goal for all artists. Mastering this will be a goal of mine and should be for other upcoming rappers as well.

It’s hard to argue the fact that Kendrick Lamar is the most acclaimed rap artist of his generation. With a balance of critical and commercial success, Kendrick has earned his place in Hip-Hop, earning the respect of all who inspired him. From releasing GRAMMY-winning “To Pimp a Butterfly” and “DAMN” to setting the bar for storytelling in rap, Kendrick is at a level that every rapper should be looking to reach. He has always displayed his own mix of inventive wordplay and compelling conceptual narratives, examining internal conflict, flaunting success, and uplifting his community. “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” is an embodiment of all these things and has surpassed all my expectations. I expect to continue listening to this album throughout the year. Let us see how many GRAMMY nominations these albums receive. Well done Kendrick, you’ve once again shown why you deserve your place atop the game.

In the official video for “Coochie Island” we are blessed with beautiful black women in animal print bathing suits. YN Jay is in a row boat, not in a body of water, but in a photography studio. YN Jay talks and his words just happen to rhyme. The beat is there just for esthetic purposes. Jay doesn’t need the beat the beat needs Jay.

“I’m just trying to get rich for my brother like Big Meech and Terry did / I’ll make my son beat your ass you got scary kids.”

It’s hard to shine on a song with Babyface Ray, but that is indeed what YN Jay does.

“Coochie Island” is the latest release from Young Wild & Free, YN Jay's upcoming mixtape, coming soon via Alamo Records.

Stay tuned for much more from YN Jay.

The Moyewood Projects rapper recently released his single “Ride Wit A P,” it is abundantly clear that he has something to say. Unlike most rappers, who you can hear clearly their inspiration for picking up the microphone, this is not the case with Poppy. His voice, sound, and perception is unique to him.

Currently there is not an artist that you can compare him to, that wouldn’t be a lazy reach. Playboy Poppy is of his own mold. In the visual for “Ride Wit A P” the ex college football player is now balling in a different way. Shot on an island of the Gulf of Mexico and flanked by four women, Poppy keeps it playa as he explains why his main squeeze is infatuated with him.
It’s early, but Playboy Poppy is doing the ground work to establish his brand’s artistic foundation, which is all that we can ask of a new artist. Coming off the success of his charting EP, "Most Valuable Playa,” #21 on iTunes and #22 on Apple Music), amassing over a million views on YouTube, Poppy is already on his way.
Get in Tune with Playboy Poppy, he’s next.

Lil Kee pays homage to his late brother Lamar and plans to continue his legacy,

“Sometimes I cry manytears this shit don’t feel right.”

Natural bars paired with Lil Kee’s gravelly voices; the record is vulnerable. Directed by ShotbyWolf, the video finds the rapper celebrating the life of his older brother with his loved ones beside him before taking a solo walk through the graveyard.

Lil Kee is relatively new, but his fans are drawn to his soft melodic tone, raw lyrics, and roaring cadences. The young rapper is already drawing comparisons among some of the heavy hitters in the game, like Lil Baby. Tracks like “Swing My Way” and “Parked A N****” deliver the southern charm and familiar tempos fans love. His singles Catch A Murder” and “Fake Sh*t fit 42 Dugg “ have collected hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify and over 5M views combined on YouTube.

Lil Baby hand-picked Lil Kee for his 4Pockets Full roster. “I can definitely see him up next,” said Lil Baby to XXL.
“Only thing he gotta do is keep his formula and just keep putting out music, and he got it.”

He stands out with his open-hearted street records and his ability to produce “pain music” authentic to his story.

Lil Kee is bringing a fresh perspective and telling stories only he can deliver. His voice is one you can’t forget, and we’re here for the journey.

"Gas Station" is a continued testament to her ever-evolving artistry. Sonically, the track delivers a bouncy trap tempo with elements of pop and punk. She spits melodically, giving clever punch-lines with a smooth cadence, and lets the world know she’s running sh** in every situation. The video is inspired by Bully from the 2006 cult-classic Rockstar-developed video game. Tia is terrorizing the town in a school uniform, lilac mullet, and black AirForce 1’s.

TiaCorine has been up since her track Lotto went viral on Tik-Tok in 2018, “I don’t give a f***, I’ll beat a b**** up.” Since then, she’s received co-signs from SZA, A$AP Rocky, and Rico Nasty. In 2021, she dropped 34Corine and The Saga 34Corine projects repping her hometown Winston-Salem. Gas Station is TiaCorine’s first single of 2022, and we’re excited to see what comes next for the artist.

He is on an unstoppable trajectory to the top of the industry but has made a brief pitstop to release some amazing visuals to his track “Ambition For Cash.”

The 24-year-old rising artist shares an acoustic performance version of the track which is performed with an ensemble of flutes within New York City’s popular Chinatown. Production by Tay Keith exhibited a chopped up entrancing flute sample that has been highlighted in this performance.

The live flutes on the legendary Doyers Street in Manhattan provides the perfect background to an aesthetically pleasing setting. The cohesiveness of the musicians and Key Glock is what really powered this impressive version of the song. It’s different since we don’t see many rappers doing this with flute players. Everything came together to boil the song down to its essence: Key Glock’s cash-chasing bars and the song’s infectious woodwind melody. The original track having recently earned a GOLD certification from the RIAA as a popular song on TikTok.

The Paper Route Empire Rapper and his team took creativity to another level. The emphasis on Chinatown and the culture inhabiting it is clear and pays homage to the history of DoyersStreet. I personally love the authenticity and how the camera shifts focus from Key Glock and onto the ensemble. The Chinese dragon is a nice touch as well, adding some fun to the already addicting track.

The live video arrives amidst Key Glock’s “SiriusXM Hip Hop Nation Presents: The Yellow Tape Tour.” This tour being his first solo nationwide headlining tour with ten dates already sold out. With shows on both coasts and everywhere in between, the tour promises performances of songs from Glock’s Billboard Top 10 albums “Yellow Tap” and “Yellow Tape 2.” Fans can also expect to hear hits from his illustrious catalog and opening performances from his fellow PRE artists like Kenny Muney.

The visuals for “Ambition For Cash” follows recent videos for “Grammys,” “Pain Killers,” and “Play For Keeps.” The video is a must see for fans of the popular track.

Vuulm is looking forward to seeing Key Glock on his tour and what else the young rapper has in store for his fans. Stream “Yellow Tape 2 (Deluxe)” available now.

Fresh off her set crashing performance with Benny The Butcher Armani Caesar releases the “Poker Night” Freestyle video, and it’s prepping up her fanbase for the drop of her 2nd project, The Liz 2.

Had a set stealing performance when she popped out on Benny The Butcher’s set at Coachella, and now she closes out the month with her third visual “Poker Night,” prepping her fanbase for the drop of her second project, The Liz 2. On “Poker Night,” Armani spits over a classic bouncy production made of soft keys. The rapper and burgeoning retail mogul talks about her lifestyle, her body, and all the money she’s accumulating. “Heaven sent, but one hell of a bitch hella thick, wit’ one hell of a switch, bougie bitch from the 716, got the Birkin bag wit’ the metal in it, just left the mall wit’ a truck full of bags, the passenger seat got a felon in it, wrappin’ my legs round the back of his neck.”

The video places Armani in a hot sauna delivering bar after bar. The visuals also include vintage-style camcorder clips of her at home listening to beats and writing her raps speaks to her overall tone in her music. Armani is different from everyone else on the marketplace. She’s a throwback to the traditional rap femme fatale whose production mirrored the boom bap production of their male counterparts.

“Poker Night” comes after the reveal of Liz 2 artwork, and her supporters are excited. It’s been two years since she’s dropped The Liz, solidifying her partnership with Griselda records. Griselda is an independent rap collective and record label founded by Westside Gunn. Founded in 2012, The record label is reminiscent of the 90s New York gritty era and added Armani Caesar in March 2020 as their first female emcee.

Armani Caesar got her start in Buffalo, NY, where she frequented a studio called Buff City and later went on to form a group with the same name. Joining Griselda Records as the “First Lady” only expanded her reach as an artist. Armani is committed and consistently releasing fresh content each week, and with “Poker Night’s” incredible feedback, we know it’s only up from here. Being featured on our Female Rappers We’re Watching list two years in a row speaks to how excited we are to see Armani win.

Spartanburg, South Carolina bred J. Billz is “Fresh Off the Plane” and just touched down in Seattle.

The track is a couple of months shy of his video drop of “Everywhere We Go,” and J. Billz keeps that same energy.

“Fresh off the Plane” is letting the world know his travel essentials are big sticks, cash, a spliff, and your girl, so he’s not one to play with. Pi’erre Bourne, SOSSHOUSE founder and sound architect behind the up-tempo bouncy production stays true to J. Billz's trap style signature. The rapper spits with confidence and a I don’t give a f*** attitude and that’s what keeps his supporters coming back. The record is a reminder that he’s good no matter where he goes.

“B**** I’m the prince of my city, n**** I go anywhere, bout to come to your lil city, them, b****es want my underwear.”

Shot in Seattle and directed by NoahSoCold and Manzano Bros, the video finds J. Billz smoking a spiff near the Space Needle Landmark.

J. Billz joined the SOSSHOUSE team with other South Carolina natives, and he is keeping the pressure high. With a fresh southern lyrical style, convicting wordplay, confidence, and relevant sound, the rapper knows who he is and the target he’s reaching.
J. Billz is determined to expand outside Spartanburg while keeping his authentic country style.

Ace Hood released his highly anticipated EP M.I.N.D (Memories Inside Never Die) and dropped the video for his newest single, “At War.”

The record is a powerful statement on the war he’s raging, standing in his beliefs, fighting, and speaking on his values and the social issues he’s dedicated to. The passion is evident, but Ace Hood is also transparent in his trials and opposition, “I know you pray I don’t succeed some people waiting on it,” but the rapper is faithful, “but as I walk through the valley in the shadow and death know every weapon formed against me was the test to myself.”

The video, directed by Alex Heider, is set in a cathedral. Ace Hood as the priest in one scene and surrounded by masked military men in the other, demonstrates the contrast of battles he endures—one spiritual and one physical.

M.I.N.D represents memories, traumas, and experiences—both good and bad that have shaped Ace Hood’s views. The project is a declaration to release the memories connected to self-limiting beliefs. Ace Hood states in a press release, “memories that stuck with me the most are the ones where I learned profound lessons or came to a realization about myself.”

Amid a career that includes platinum singles, Top 10 albums, and all-star collaborations, Antoine McColister pivoted during the mid-2010s to focus on longevity. A series of mixtapes and 2020’s Mr. Hood affirmed that Ace’s dive into being an independent artist was worth the hardships, with tracks like “We Ball” going gold with over 75 million streams.

Like another recent hit, “Finding My Way,” suggested, Ace Hood has accessed his power and is helping others to do the same—spiritually, mentally, and physically. His decision to go independent is propelling the artist into new territory. Tunnel vision and talent paired with a relentless desire to inspire is what makes the rapper a force that’s here to stay.

"Gravity" is the west-coast rapper’s first release of 2022, and it doesn’t disappoint.

Discovered by YG, here she takes the viewers back to her old trap, and shares with us her money moves.

The video showcases Day on the main stage, in the locker room, and the champagne room and everywhere the scenes take us there are dollars either in the air or on the ground. As a song “Gravity” is a dancers anthem. The song has all the ingredients required for dancers to get every dollar thrown. Claps, subs, and high hats move the track while Day’s distinct voice and seen it all before confidence seals the song making it a bonafide slapper.

“He ran out of funds so I had to subtract /he said he boss but the math ain’t math”

We featured the 4Hunnid, Epic signee in our list of The Up Next: Top Female Rappers In 2022, largely because not only is Day Sulan skilled, but she is also capable of being the top female from her coast.
Couple that with the fact that there has never been a critically acclaimed born and bred west coast female rapper to come out of Los Angeles and reach mainstream success. Don’t that bum you out Day Sulan may be the first.

The multi-platinum selling, Golden Globe and Grammy nominated artist Wiz Khalifa grew into worldwide stardom while never forgetting his roots in Pittsburgh, PA.

Wiz has decided to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his 2012 mixtape “Taylor Allderdice.” The project finally finds its ways to streaming services, allowing fans to enjoy favorites such as “My Favorite Song” and “California.” Along with the mixtape, a new mini-doc has been released in which Wiz reflects on the making of the project and what it means to him.

Since he blew up with his “Kush & OJ” mixtape and smash hit “Black and Yellow”, Wiz has always been known to deliver on any track. Although he received criticism for his following projects “Cabin Fever” and “Rolling Papers,” Wiz Khalifa returned to his signature sound when he initially released “Taylor Allderdice.” With his debut album “Rolling Papers” breaking him into the mainstream sector of music, this mixtape served as a message to Wiz’s core fans that even as his fame rose, he would remain the same easygoing stoner who roamed the halls of his old High School in Pittsburgh.

The project itself serves as a conscious return to the hazy sound he developed with his core collaborators, including: I.D Labs, Sledgren, Cardo, Big Jerm, Chevy Woods and Lola Monroe. Taylor Gang came together in full swing to deliver this cohesive body of work and it’s great to see it appreciated once more. “Taylor Allderdice” showcases the chemistry Wiz has with the latest signee to Taylor Gang, the legendary rapper/producer Juicy J. You can find the two going back and forth on “My Favorite Song,” “T.A.P.,” “The Code” and “Blindfolds.” Other notable features were delivered by Rick Ross and Smoke DZA. Yet with all the guest firepower, not once is Wiz upstaged on a track.

Each track on the mixtape ends with snippets of dialogue between Wiz and mixtape host Rob Markman, in which Wiz discusses his rise to stardom while answering questions with thoughtful defiance. The mini-doc gives Wiz Khalifa a space to expand upon these thoughts. During the chat on “O.N.I.F.C.,” Wiz claims that “what inspired me back then is the same sh*t that inspires me now.”

“Taylor Allderdice” brings the listener back to March 2012, when the project was first released, receiving critical acclaim, and earning positive reviews in XXL and HipHopDX. Landing at #8 in Complex Magazine’s list of Best Albums of 2012, it was obvious how well the mixtape landed with Wiz Khalifa’s true fans. Along with the aforementioned collaborations, there are plenty of names that did work behind the boards, including: Lex Luger, Jake One, Harry Fraud and SpaceGhostPurrp. From beginning to end, “Taylor Allderdice” serves as an example of Wiz’s strong songwriting as he delivers some of the most inescapable hooks and couplets around. The project serves as an indelible snapshot of a fascinating period in the history of Wiz Khalifa and Hip-Hop at large.

The official release of “Taylor Allderdice” follows a recent back and forth hitting the news involving Gillie Da Kid. The mixtape release should shift the focus from any nonsense the public may be talking about and onto what is really important, music. Wiz Khalifa is more than what petty news outlets want to report on, he is a positive and forward-thinking man with a strong catalog of music that has garnered the love of fans all over the world. Wiz continues his efforts towards clearing his classic mixtapes for streaming services with the assistance of Rostrum Records. Back in 2020, the rapper celebrated the 10th anniversary of “Kush & Orange Juice” by releasing it to streaming services and printing the limited-edition Vinyl. Later in the year he released “The Thrill,” his early single with the memorable Empire Of The Sun sample, earning the approval of the band and listing them as primary artists on the song. We can’t wait for more from Wiz’s camp and look forward to streaming more of the Taylor Gang star’s music on Vuulm.
